If you are arrested and detained, you are entitled to a consultation with your solicitor in the Garda Station. If you are in receipt of social welfare or earn less than €20,316 per year, you may be eligible for free consultations with a solicitor under the Garda Station Legal Advice Scheme
The Garda Station Legal Advice Scheme applies to persons detained in a Garda station for the purpose of the investigation of an offence under the provisions of:

Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939, as amended by the Offences against the State (Amendment) 1998

Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, or
-
Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996
-
Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007
